Membership Policy

1. Definitions
- Membership Year: The period from the date of purchase until June 30th of the following year.
- Donor Level: A tier of membership based on the annual donation amount.
2. Membership/Donor Levels
- Our booster club offers the following membership donor levels:
- Standard Memberships:
- Digger: $25
- Blocker: $50
- Setter: $75
- Spiker: $100
- Premium Memberships:
- Captain: $250
- Honorary Coach: $500
- All American: $1,000
- Hall of Fame: $5,000

3. Membership Terms
- Memberships purchased in July – December are valid from the time of purchase until June 30th of the following year.
- Memberships purchased in January – June are valid from the time of purchase until June 30 th of the same year.
- Renewal reminders will be sent prior to the expiration date.
4. Non-Prorated Memberships
- Memberships cannot be prorated regardless of when they are purchased during the year.
- The full annual donation amount is due at the time of purchase.
- This policy ensures fairness for all members and simplifies our administrative processes.
5. Non-Transferable
- Memberships are non-transferrable and cannot be reassigned to another individual or entity.
6. Accidental Purchases
In the event of an accidental membership purchase, the following options are available:
- Full refund within 3 days of purchase, provided no membership benefits have been used.
- Credit toward a different membership level if requested within 7 days of purchase.
- Donation of the accidental purchase to the booster club with no membership benefits. To request any of these options, please contact us at [email protected].
7. Cancellation
- Members may cancel their membership at any time by emailing [email protected].
- No refunds will be issued for cancelled memberships after the 3-day accidental purchase window.
8. Membership Benefits
- Benefits vary by donor level and are subject to change.
- Benefits are non-cumulative and apply only to the current membership year.

9. Upgrading or Downgrading Membership
- Members may upgrade their membership level at any time by paying the difference in donation amount.
- Downgrading is only possible at the time of renewal.
10. Tax Deductibility
- Memberships may be tax-deductible as allowed by law.
- Members should consult with a tax professional for advice on deductibility.
- Members will receive a donation receipt at the time of purchase for tax purposes. For contributions of $250 or more members will receive a tax receipt by January 31st of the following year.
11. Use of Funds
- Membership fees directly support the operations and initiatives of the Penn State Women’s Volleyball Booster Club. These funds cover supplies, promotional materials, and other expenses to support the Penn State Women’s Volleyball program.
12. Member Responsibilities
- Members are expected to adhere to NCAA rules and regulations, and our code of conduct, which promotes sportsmanship and respect
- Violation of the code of conduct may result in membership termination without refund.
13. Policy Changes
- The Penn State Women’s Volleyball Booster Club reserves the right to modify this policy at any time.
- Members will be notified of any significant changes to the policy via email.
